LAHORE: After canceling its open meet in Islamab three days prior, the beleaguerd Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday postpond yet another power show that was suppod to take place on August 27 in Lahore.

Follow their “power show” in the federal capital on September 8, the previous ruling party’s Secretary of Informan for Punjab, Shaukat Mahmood Basra, has statd that a new date for the Lahore demonstratn will be announcd shortly.

He gave his word that the party created by Imran Khan will give its next significant political event its whole focus.

The situatn is beg referr to as “another blot” on the beleaguer party’s electoral stand, as it has experiencd consecutive defeats in organizg political events.

The PTI had earlier declared it would hold a rally in Tarnol, Islamabad, at whatever cost, even though the local government had revoked the no objection certificate (NOC) and had blocked all highways going to the federal capital. Later, the party decided at the last minute to move the public gathering to September 8.

The PTI Chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, declared that Imran Khan, the party’s founder, had ordered a postponement of the event.

However, Aleema Khan, the sister of the imprisoned former premier, expressed her disapproval of the decision in a recent audio statement. V accusing the PTI leadership of lacking a “real intention” to free the party founder.

She asked whose initiative it was that senior PTI leader Azam Swati visited Imran so early in the morning. “Who instructed him [Swati] to meet Imran at 7 am and deliver a message regarding the rally’s postponement?”

Aleema also questiond why they were speakg with the PTI founder. Who is presently detaind at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, and she receivd a harsh response.
