However, these details remain confidential, as the automaker has yet to publicly disclose the full scope of its plans. Audi declined to comment on the specifics, labeling the information as speculative. In response, SAIC stated that the EVs will embody “true Audi with authentic Audi DNA.”

The decision to develop cars specifically for the Chinese market highlights the growing competition from domestic automakers. Chinese EV brands, such as Nio and Zeekr, are capturing a significant share of the market, which has led to declining sales for foreign automakers heavily reliant on traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. As a result, many international brands are forming new partnerships to stay competitive.

Audi and SAIC announced a joint venture in May to co-develop a new EV platform designed for the Chinese market. This initiative allows Audi to integrate the latest EV technologies and adapt to Chinese consumer preferences while addressing a substantial customer base.
